Assalamu Alaykum,

I have been searching for the meaning for the name ZARAR and have been kindly provided with the meaning, as Brave/Courageous. I have looked in to other name sites as well and they have the same meaning for Zarar. BUT there are some other sites such as http://www.islamworld.net/urdu.html........... which gives a completely different meaning .
They refer to Zarar as A /n.m.injury /damage /harm /affliction /loss /ruin
I truly like the name but I am so confused with the meaning. Somebody please help me find the correct meaning and origin of the name. Is it really an Arabic name because I have seen it in Turkish websites too.
Your help will be greatly appreciated ! Thank you.

Wa alaikum Assalam,
both meanings are correct, but its a spell. difference in urdu :-
1.ZARAR زرار(arabic) (ZAA-RAY-ALIF-RAY) = meaning = Brave/Courgageous
2.ZARAR ضرر(arabic)(ZUAD-RAY-RAY)= meaning= Damage/harm/......

Hello !

I found The name Zohar under Arabic, Hebrew and Hindi names. It means light and brilliance in all three languages and it also refers to Zohar prayer time. I believe Zohar is also the name of a series books that talks about Jewish mysticism? I need to be sure if it is really an Arabic name and a good name to keep for my son.
